Since 2012, the Global Frackdown – an international day of action initiated by Food & Water Watch to ban fracking – has helped connect activists across the globe and demonstrated the growing power of the movement to stop fracking, gas infrastructure, sand mining and other related extraction methods. Last year, 300 different organizations from 36 countries participated in rallies, demonstrations, documentary screenings and other amazing events.
This year the Global Frackdown is going to be a little different, but with an even bigger impact. Instead of just one international day of action, we plan on making our voice heard over the entire month of November in the lead up to the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Paris, France. Organizations from across the world will have the opportunity to sign an international letter to world leaders in support of a ban on fracking and a renewable energy future.
Read the letter in English, French or Spanish.
The fight against fracking is the fight for clean, renewable energy. It is the fight for the health and safety of our communities. And it is the fight for our future. Join the Global Frackdown to Paris today!
